At night, if you have guests sleeping on the fold-out couch, you can close the shutters very easily. It's very quiet between the living room and bedroom with the shutters closed. You can have someone watching TV in the living room while someone is asleep in the bedroom. There is a ceiling fan directly over the bed as well as over the couch in the living room.
