Punta Laurel, our Caribbean water retreat, is in a calm bay about 1500 feet from Isla Popa and 45 minutes from Bocas Town. We meet you at the Bocas airport, help you buy supplies for your stay (or we can pre-buy) and then take you to the boat for the scenic 45 minute ride out to your own private paradise.It is built native style, of hardwoods and thatch, on stilts right over the water, and it is surrounded by coral reef. There are no chitras/no-see-ums/sandflies or mosquitos. There are no hurricanes in Panama, as we are located below the hurricane belt. The water and air temperature is perfect.The main lodge is spacious, comfortable and open to the constant breezes. A large kitchen equipped with cooking essentials and there is a charcoal grill. Snorkeling gear and a 2 person kayak is included with the retreat.The living room has comfortable furniture with an oversized lounging bed and an Ipod dock/Cd player. Wireless internet is available (bring your own laptop). There is a large outside deck great for doing yoga, dancing or lying in the hammocks.The cabins are right over the water and come with a private deck and a swim ladder. You can lie in bed and see flying fish and pelicans with 360 degree views of sunrises and sunsets. This retreat was built with love, attention to comfort, beauty, and harmony.We have enjoyed hosting: honeymooners, family reunions, yoga and tai chi retreats, business meetings, and single women needing to rest and heal.For people who want to get away from it all and sample simple life in an unspoiled paradise, we offer warm and personal hospitality.
