Location: Seal Cove, Mount Desert Island, Acadia, Maine, USA Accommodations: Lake Front Cottage, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths (Sleeps 7) Cottage 2 Located on the "quiet side" of Mount Desert Island, this cottage offers proximity to all the other attractions of the island and Acadia National Park. The cottage shares 7.4 acres and 800 plus or minus feet of shorefront on Hodgdon Pond with a second cottage. The cottages are widely separated from each other. Each has frontage on the lake and its own dock, two kayaks, and a canoe. In addition, there is a utility rowboat at Cottage 1 that guests staying there are welcome to use. Each cottage has three bedrooms and two baths, and contains over 1400 square feet of living space. The cottages are fully furnished and each has a washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, radio, television, DVD, and charcoal grill. There is a booster seat, Port-a-crib and child gate in each cottage, and a swing-set and sand box on the property.

GOING GREENER:We are trying to be as green as we can, and hope you will let us know your ideas about ways in which to lighten our carbon footprint. We use paper made from 100% recycled sources for leases, correspondence, and information. Supplies such as paper towels and toilet paper made from recycled sources are in the closet near the first floor bathroom. We provide natural cleaning products including soaps by Meyer’s Claen Say, Shaklee, and Chlorox GreenWorks. We would appreciate your help in keeping the closet stocked with similar items, which you can buy at A&B Naturals in Bar Harbor. We provide garbage bags made from cornstarch or recycled plastic. We provide sandwich bags made from recycled plastic or cornstarch for food storage. There are reusable green bags in the broom closet for you to use when you go shopping. There are PVC free EVA curtain liners in showers. Trash is picked up on Thursday mornings, and recyclables on the last Friday of each month from the galvanized cans near the garbage house., but only if they are in plastic liners, which we have provided. Please do not leave recyclables in the cottage. We do not have a place to compost at this time, but may try to provide one again next year. Please keep noise to a minimum. For instance, use headphones if you want to play music while outside the cottage, and keep the volume on the TV and radios
