Beautiful Downtown Rental-Close to Coastal Trail and Shopping Location: Anchorage, Alaska, USA (Close to New Sagaya's, Costal Trail, Restaurants & Shopping) Accommodations: Townhouse, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5+ Baths (Sleeps 2-8) A charming rental in the heart of downtown. It is a standard 2-story duplex built by the Federal Government between 1945 and 1950. We have kept much of its original charm in the 12 pane, sash windows, molding and general layout. This is a perfect base for winter visitors to Alaska's Fur Rondy, the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, skiing at Mount Alyeska and for summer visitors it is close to the Saturday Market, Summer Solstice Activities and biking or running our Coastal Trail. We are one block from Sagaya's International Market and Cafe, this is a great little gourmet market with a Kaladi's coffee shop in the same building.Also a great stopping point in route to remote "bush" Alaska. We were personal friends of the late Dick Proenneke and have some excellent connections to get you on your way to "One Man's Wilderness." Our bedrooms are equipped with cotton sheets and cozy down blankets. There are curtains on the windows to block the Midnight Sun if you need them. We have a few roll away cots and extra pillows on hand in case you need extra bedding. There is also a port-a-crib and highchair available for use.The kitchen is stocked with all the necessities. There are pots and pans, coffee maker and grinder, dishes, soap, towels, etc. We hope to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
